I love playing with oval shapes.  In this case, I've offset the place where the foot of the cup rests within an oval saucer, as well as made the lip of the cup oval.  These pieces are fine, with thin walls and delicate handles, to suggest the formality of traditional english tea time.

Wheel-thrown with English Grolleg Porcelain and available in all my house glaze colors according to your wishes. I have one at the moment, in the gentle mauve pictured.

NB the teacup is half a pound and the saucer is one pound.  The teacup comfortably holds 10 ounces and the saucer is 6" by 7".
